About the Event

Do you feel confident in your skills as a decision supporter? Do you know how to build the decision-making ability of the person you support? If you are unsure about your answers to these questions, then our 2-part series focused on providing decision support is for you!

What is this series about?

We all make decisions, every day. Decision-making is not just about the "big" things, it starts with the "small" things. Learning to make small decisions builds the foundation for a more self-determined life.

Often, decisions are made for people with intellectual disability. However, practicing on low-stake, daily decisions prepares an individual for bigger decisions, life transitions and can assist a person to build their confidence to say "no" to harm or exploitation.

For a family or supporter, this can be deeply personal. It might be about:

  • supporting individuals to have more control over everyday decisions
